These are the main areas in which I work. I experiment continually, however, so if you’re looking for something not listed here, that doesn’t mean I can’t do it! Drop me a mail and I’ll be more than happy to discuss your project with you.

Composition

Working on new and diverse creative projects is always exciting for me, and I love attempting to write types of music that are challenging and original. No matter what the application, I will always try to create something unique, with its own spark that makes your project come to life. Whether it's writing a song for a live event or for a personal celebration like a wedding, authoring an original score for a film for your website, designing short stingers and accents for commercial application or podcasts, or producing extended ambient soundscapes, I will always try to find an interesting and appropriate angle through which to create an exciting composition.

Arrangement

Taking an existing piece or song, and rewriting it in a new way, usually with different instrumentation or for a different application, is always fun, and I can be as creative or as true to the original piece as you like. I could, for example, rearrange your favourite Beatles song to be played by a string quartet at your wedding, or arrange the Star Wars theme to be sung by a barbershop quartet.

Recording/Production

I don't have access to a professional studio, nor do I yet have years of pro sound engineering and production experience. However, I am set up to produce good quality recordings of much of the work I compose and arrange, even if it sometimes means using digital (MIDI) sounds instead of a full string section or jazz band. (Take a listen to the samples on my Listen page). The advantage, of course, so long as this quality is acceptable to you, is that your production and recording will cost a fraction of the sum it would if live performers and expensive facilities were used throughout.
